The effects of Alcohol in a Fantasy Setting
A Character may consume a number of doses of Alcohol equal to their Constitution Modifier within an Hour without ill effect.
On average, a "dose" consists of the following:
- A tankard of beer
- A glass of mead or wine
- A shot of spirits
After reaching the proscribed number of doses within an hour, the imbiber becomes Tipsy
New Condition - Tipsy
While Tipsy, a Character loses Proficiency with Intelligence or Wisdom checks. They are Proficient in Charisma checks with other Tipsy Characters.
For each additional dose of Alcohol taken while Tipsy, a Character must make a Constitution Save (DC: 10 +1 per dose taken within an hour) or become Poisoned. A drunken Character remains Poisoned until they complete a Long Rest. A Character who becomes Poisoned by drink every night for a week gains the Addict Condition.
-The Cantrip Quick Sober immediately ends the Tipsy or Poisoned condition when brought on by drink.
-A Character with Poison Resistance doubles the amount of doses they can drink before becoming Tipsy. Advantage on Poison Saves applies to rolls to resist Drunkenness.
